Résumé : Burundi is facing rapid population growth and growing socio-economic challenges, particularly for women, most of whom work in agriculture and live in precarious conditions. Poverty and socio-political crises have led many women to migrate to the Middle East in search of better opportunities, although this migration leaves them vulnerable. This research aims to analyze the effects of migration on migrant women and their families, focusing on the balance between opportunities and risks. It seeks to identify the main reasons
why Burundian women migrate to the Middle East, and to explore the positive and negative socio-economic impacts of their migration. The study used a qualitative method based on thematic content analysis of the life stories of migrant women returning to Burundi.
